Officials Investigate Christmas Eve Trolley Accident

Panama City, Fla. – Bay Town Trolley officials and area law enforcement are investigating a trolley accident that happened Wednesday morning in Springfield after the trolley driver apparently passed out at the wheel. The accident left some passengers with minor scraps and bruises, but nobody, including the driver is in critical condition.

“Our greatest concern right now is for our driver and the passengers. Thankfully no one was seriously injured,” said Beth Coulliette, Bay Town Trolley’s Executive Director. “A thorough investigation will be conducted over the next few days so that we can determine exactly what happened.”

The police and emergency personnel responded to the scene immediately following the accident to ensure everyone’s safety. Updates will be released as soon as they are known. Bay Town Trolley will continue running according to schedule today till 6 p.m. and will not run on Christmas Day.
